what the social media punditry crowd always forgets, is their entire experience of social media is warped by the amount of readers, followers, etc they have.

it’s great if you can ask your tumblr, or twitter followers to help you with issues.  but 99% of the people on those services can’t do that.

so really, you aren’t discovering some great extension of social media.  you’re bragging about being famous on the internet.
